General information only. Not legal, financial or accounting advice. The result uses the figures you enter and assumes the cost is shared by unit factors. It doesn't cover a bylaw that shares costs another way, or costs charged only to some units. Check your bylaws, your condominium plan and the board's resolution before acting.

Questions boards ask

Why did my fee go up more than my neighbour's?

Fees are shared by unit factors. A budget increase raises everyone's share by the same percentage, so the dollar amount differs by unit factors.

Is a big increase a red flag?

Not by itself. Catching up on deferred maintenance, an insurance jump or a bigger reserve fund contribution can each explain a rise. Ask the board what's driving it before assuming the worst.

What if part of our budget is shared another way?

Then the result won't match your bill. Tick the box under the form and the calculator will stop rather than show a wrong figure.
