General information only. Not legal, financial or accounting advice. The result uses the figures you enter and assumes the cost is shared by unit factors. It doesn't cover a bylaw that shares costs another way, or costs charged only to some units. Check your bylaws, your condominium plan and the board's resolution before acting.

Bylaws can share some costs another way than by unit factors. Read yours alongside the Condominium Property Act before you rely on a figure. This link is unpaid.

Questions boards ask

How are condo fees worked out in Alberta?

Usually each unit pays its unit factors divided by the total unit factors, times the budget. Bylaws can set other splits for some costs, so check yours.

Why does my neighbour pay a different fee?

Because fees follow unit factors. A unit with more unit factors pays more, even if the homes look alike.

Does this include the reserve fund?

Yes, if you enter it. Put the operating budget and the reserve fund contribution in their own boxes, and the result shows the reserve part separately.
